Flooring America began life as Eastwind Floor Center in 1981 in a 1,600 s.f. store, in Richmond, Va. It was started by Steve Montrose, our current owner and President who resides in Powhatan County with his family and friends.
In 1983, we doubled in size, moving into a 3,000 s.f. store and 26 years later we are in two retail locations; a 4,000 s.f store in the west end at Patterson and Parham Rd. and a 5,600 s.f. store in the town of Midlothian. We also have a 10,000 s.f. warehouse located in the city of Richmond.
In 1988 we joined the first flooring cooperative in this area called Magic Carpet and in 1990 we became America’s Carpet Gallery (ACG) and we changed our name. In 2001 ACG was sold to the largest flooring cooperative in the world, CCA Global, and we changed our name again to Flooring America. We became two of almost 600 stores nationwide.
We specialize and set ourselves apart by using technology to simplify and streamline the flooring purchase for our customers, providing the highest quality installation experience to our customers, continuously updating the training of our wonderful Associates and constantly servicing our customers by exceeding their expectations.
ur company has a strong retail presence in our marketplace, and has expanded its offerings into the Commercial, Realtor, Builder, Designer and Insurance markets as well.
We value environmental concerns, community involvement, both on the personal and corporate levels, having fun, and being concerned for each other and the customer, with honesty and integrity over all.
